Getting There

Saint Lucia has two airports. Hewanorra International Airport (UVF), near Vieux Fort in the south, is the main gateway for international flights. George F. L. Charles Airport (SLU), just outside Castries in the north, handles regional inter-island traffic.

Most long-haul visitors fly into Hewanorra. American Airlines operates direct flights from Charlotte, Miami, and Philadelphia. United flies from Chicago and Newark. British Airways has direct service from London. Air Canada connects from Toronto. From Hewanorra it is about a 90-minute drive to Castries and the north of the island — a taxi costs around US$70–80.

If you are arriving from elsewhere in the Caribbean, George F. L. Charles Airport is more convenient for Castries. Regional carriers including LIAT and interCaribbean serve routes from Barbados, Trinidad, Antigua, and other islands.

By sea, Saint Lucia is a popular cruise port. The main facilities are at Pointe Seraphine in Castries, with a second terminal at Port Castries. Soufrière and Vieux Fort also receive smaller vessels.

A high-speed catamaran service connects Saint Lucia to Martinique, Guadeloupe, and Dominica, operated by L'Express des Îles — a good option if you want to explore multiple islands without flying.

Departure tax is included in most airline tickets. Check your ticket before arriving at the airport.
