Duke Street

Duke Street runs along the west shore of Cockburn Town, parallel to Front Street, and is lined with the best surviving 18th and 19th century houses — pastel colours, deep balconies, dry-stone walls. Most are still occupied as homes, a few as small inns or galleries. The architecture is "Bermudian" in style: hipped roofs, gable-end chimneys, and white-limewashed walls designed for the climate.

Walk it slowly, end to end. It is the most attractive streetscape in the country.
