Housed in a trapper cabin built in 1916, this small museum traces Talkeetna's history from early mining and railroad days through the era of bush aviation and mountaineering. The centerpiece is a 12-foot-by-12-foot scale model of Denali surrounded by climbing photographs and expedition memorabilia. Several of the town's original log buildings are part of the complex, and the whole of Talkeetna was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.
