Flightseeing around Denali is the headliner -- operators like Talkeetna Air Taxi and K2 Aviation run glacier landings and summit circuits that rank among Alaska's most spectacular experiences. On the ground, the town's history as a railroad stop and mountaineering base is preserved in a handful of log-cabin museums and landmarks. Walk Main Street to the river confluence, stop at Nagley's Store, and keep your eyes on the sky -- there is almost always a bush plane coming or going.
