The Mohave Museum of History and Arts is the best place in Kingman to get a handle on the region's past. Exhibits cover the pre-Columbian Hualapai and Mohave peoples, the arrival of the railroad in the 1880s, the Route 66 era, and the area's mining history. There is a notable section on Andy Devine, the Hollywood character actor who grew up in Kingman — the main street through town is named Andy Devine Avenue in his honour.
The museum also maintains a small but well-curated collection of Native American basketry and beadwork, and rotates temporary exhibits from regional artists. It sits close to downtown and pairs well with a walk through the historic district.
