Fort Huachuca

Active Army post founded in 1877, with Apache Wars and Buffalo Soldier history.

Fort Huachuca was established in 1877 and became one of the key posts in the late Apache Wars. It later became closely tied to the Buffalo Soldiers, military intelligence, and the long Army presence in southern Arizona.

This is still an active installation, not an open-air theme park. Visitors without military identification need to check current access rules and allow time for the gate process before planning around the museums or historic district.
