Getting Around

Yuma is a driving city. Most attractions are spread out across the desert flatlands and you will need a car to reach the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge or the Martinez Lake area. Downtown Yuma and the riverfront historic parks are compact enough to walk between. Yuma City Trolley runs a free downtown shuttle during the winter snowbird season.

The border crossing into Los Algodones, Mexico is just south of town — a 10-minute drive — and is popular with visitors for cheap dental work and prescriptions. You can walk across on foot.
