Eating Out

Big Bear Village, the main commercial strip along Big Bear Boulevard, has a range of casual restaurants built around the ski-town formula: burgers, pizza, mountain-comfort food, and a handful of more ambitious places for dinner. Prices are resort-elevated.

Peppercorn Grille is the most reliable option for a proper dinner — fish, steak, and solid sides in a comfortable setting without the après-ski chaos. Murray's Saloon & Eatery does dependable pub food with a good beer selection; it fills up fast after the mountain closes. For breakfast, Log Cabin Restaurant opens early and does substantial plates that make sense before a day on the slopes.

Most places on the village strip cater to a tourist crowd and quality is inconsistent. You are better served by eating breakfast and lunch at the resort cafeterias (functional and fast) and saving the effort of a table-service dinner for somewhere worth it.
