The best walk in Santa Cruz. This paved coastal path runs along the cliffs from the boardwalk area west to Natural Bridges State Park, about three miles each way. The views stretch across Monterey Bay, and you will pass Steamer Lane where surfers are almost always in the water. At the far end, Natural Bridges is worth the detour — especially in winter when thousands of monarch butterflies cluster in the eucalyptus grove.
