More than 125,000 people visit the Dell'Osso corn maze each year. It sits just outside Manteca in Lathrop, off Interstate 5. The main attraction is a 40-acre corn maze open by day and — with flashlights — by night. Around it: a haunted house, games, go-carts, pumpkin sales, and hayrides.
The star turn is the pumpkin blasters: six steel-welded contraptions designed by farmer Ron Dell'Osso. For $5 you get a bucket of twelve mini-pumpkins to fire at targets — Halloween-character open mouths, hanging tires. It's loud and genuinely fun. Seasonal operation, roughly September through November.
