Library Park is the heart of downtown Manteca — a tree-shaded square at the corner of Yosemite Avenue and Main Street that has been the city's gathering point since the early twentieth century. The park hosts a weekly farmers market on Tuesday evenings in summer and anchors the city's annual street fair in spring.
The downtown blocks around the park have seen recent investment, with the late-Victorian street grid intact and several of the older commercial buildings still in use. It is a pleasant place to start a walk through central Manteca before heading out to the river parks or the surrounding farmland.
