Getting Around

Chula Vista is a sprawling suburban city and a car is by far the most convenient way to get around. The main attractions are spread across a wide area: the bayfront and wildlife refuge are on the west, Third Avenue Village and downtown are in the center, the golf club is in the east, and the Olympic Training Center and Otay Lakes are in the south.

The San Diego Trolley Blue Line runs through the western part of the city with stops at E Street and H Street stations. From either stop, the bayfront attractions and Third Avenue are walkable (10–20 minutes). For the Olympic Training Center or Otay Lakes, a car or rideshare is necessary.

The Chula Vista Bayfront has a free tram shuttle connecting the E Street parking area to the Living Coast Discovery Center and the bayfront parks, making it easy to visit that area without a car if you arrive by trolley.
