One of only three year-round Olympic training centers in the United States, this facility on the plateau above Otay Lakes is where elite athletes come to prepare for international competition. Free daily tours take you through the velodrome, aquatics center, and fields used by track and field, soccer, and archery teams. The Spirit Store sells official US Olympic merchandise. A story
The 155-acre campus was built on a windswept plateau above Otay Lakes specifically because of its year-round mild weather. At any given time roughly 500 resident athletes train here, alongside thousands of non-resident athletes who come for shorter training camps. The velodrome is the only outdoor Olympic-standard velodrome in the United States.
