Palm Springs has a lively bar scene centred around Arenas Road, which has become the focus of the town's large LGBTQ+ community. The bars are generally casual and outdoor-focused — most have terraces or patios that make sense in a place where it doesn't rain from May to November.
Hunters on Arenas Road is the anchor of the gay bar strip, open since 1998, with a dance floor and outdoor patio. The Birba patio doubles as a bar and is one of the nicest places in town for a drink in the early evening. Eight4Nine, also on Arenas Road, has a beautiful outdoor area and a mixed crowd that skews toward the LGBTQ+ community. For a cocktail bar with a more intimate feel, Workshop's bar is attached to the restaurant and one of the better craft cocktail spots in town.
