Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) handles direct flights from many US cities; the airport is remarkably close to downtown, about three kilometres away. Driving from Los Angeles takes about two hours via the I-10; traffic can extend that on Friday afternoons heading out and Sunday evenings returning. From San Diego the drive is roughly two hours via Highway 74 or the I-10.
There is no direct Amtrak service to Palm Springs, but buses run from Palm Springs to the Amtrak station in Maricopa and from downtown Palm Springs to Los Angeles Union Station via Flixbus and Greyhound.
