Midtown

The walkable core of Sacramento's restaurant and nightlife scene, stretching along J, K, and L streets between 19th and 28th. Midtown is where Sacramento's Farm-to-Fork identity has its most convincing expression — blocks of independent restaurants, craft breweries, coffee roasters, and bookshops occupy Victorian houses and converted warehouses with a density unusual for a city of Sacramento's size.

The Tower Theatre neighbourhood around Broadway and Land Park Drive has its own character: more bohemian, centred on the midcentury Tower Theatre (now a venue), with the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op and a string of independent businesses. Midtown is best explored on foot or by bicycle; the city's grid layout means you can navigate easily without a map.
