The Hollywood Bowl has been LA's premier outdoor concert venue since 1922, and a summer evening there — with the hills behind the stage and the stars overhead — is one of the city's great experiences. The LA Philharmonic plays all summer, but the programming runs from jazz to classic rock to film score nights. Bring a picnic; you're allowed to eat and drink in your seats. The small on-site museum is free and covers the Bowl's history from Jimi Hendrix to Sting.
