The fifteen-block run of brass-and-terrazzo stars set into the sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street, with more than 2,700 names from across the entertainment industry. New stars are added at a rate of around twenty a year, each unveiling drawing a crowd.
The most concentrated stretch runs between Highland and Vine on Hollywood Boulevard. The pavement is busiest, gawkiest, and worst smelling at night; an early morning walk is the easier experience.
