Abbot Kinney Boulevard runs through inland Venice for about a mile and a half, mixing independent shops, galleries, cafes, restaurants, and a steady crowd from the Westside. It is polished now, but still useful for understanding the creative, commercial side of Venice beyond the boardwalk.
The street is named for Abbot Kinney, the developer who tried to build a "Venice of America" here in the early 20th century. Come for a walk, browse, and then continue toward the remaining Venice canals or the beach.
