Healdsburg Memorial Bridge

1920s steel truss bridge on the National Register of Historic Places

The Healdsburg Memorial Bridge carries Healdsburg Avenue across the Russian River south of the downtown plaza. Built in the 1920s, it's a Pratt through-truss bridge — the functional industrial style of the era — and sits on the National Register of Historic Places. In summer, the gravel bar below the bridge is a gathering spot for locals who come to swim in the Russian River.

The Russian River in this stretch is wide, slow-moving and clear in summer; families with floats and kayakers share it peacefully. The bridge walkway gives a decent view up and downstream through the truss framework. Not a destination on its own, but a pleasant stop on a walk from downtown toward the river trails.
