Spoonbar occupies the ground floor of the h2hotel — an architectural statement of a building designed by the San Francisco firm Turnbull Griffin Haesloop — and carries the same aesthetic into its bar program. The room is spare and comfortable; the terrace is one of the better outdoor drinking spots in town on a warm evening.
The cocktail menu is creative without being tedious: seasonal ingredients, good spirits, and a focus on drinkability rather than novelty. Local wines and beers are available alongside the cocktail list. The kitchen produces snacks and small plates — charcuterie, cheese, flatbreads — that hold up well with drinks without demanding a full meal commitment.
Less crowded than the restaurants on the plaza on weekend evenings, and worth knowing about as a pre-dinner or late-evening option. The design is worth a moment of appreciation on its own.
