Oceanside is served by Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner (Los Angeles to San Diego) and the COASTER commuter train from San Diego. The Oceanside Transit Center on South Tremont Street is the main rail hub, handling both Amtrak and COASTER services as well as connecting buses. From Los Angeles the train takes roughly two hours; from San Diego, about an hour.
By car, Oceanside is about 40 miles north of San Diego on Interstate 5. San Diego International Airport (SAN) is the closest major airport, about 40 miles south. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is about 80 miles north.
