Laguna Beach is 75 km south of Los Angeles and 75 km north of San Diego, on Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1). By car from Los Angeles, take the I-405 south to the 133 Laguna Canyon Road, which drops directly into the village — about 90 minutes without traffic. By car from San Diego, take I-5 north to the 133 — about 75 minutes.
There is no rail to Laguna Beach. The OCTA bus route 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) connects Laguna Beach to neighboring towns and to bus connections to Irvine and the rest of the Orange County transit network, but this is not a practical option for most visitors. In summer, a free seasonal Laguna Beach trolley (the Laguna Trolley) runs along PCH through the main beaches and parking areas.
