Coupa Café

Venezuelan-owned café and Silicon Valley deal-making hangout

Address 538 Ramona Street

The unofficial coffee-and-arepas headquarters of mid-budget Silicon Valley deal-making — open since 2004 and credited as the place where Mark Zuckerberg first met Peter Thiel, among many other founding stories. Venezuelan-owned, with proper espresso, decent house-made chocolate, and breakfast arepas worth coming for.

The Ramona Street branch is the original; another branch sits inside the Y Combinator-adjacent parts of campus. Free Wi-Fi, plenty of plug points, generally noisy. The vibe is mostly people on calls and laptops, but the food is good enough to justify a sit-down stop on its own.
