Tin City is an industrial complex a mile south of downtown that has been converted into a collection of small-batch producers — wineries, a brewery, a cider house, a distillery, and a few food businesses all operating out of corrugated metal warehouse buildings. It is the most interesting place to drink in Paso Robles if you want variety in a compact space and do not want to drive between tasting rooms.
The atmosphere is relaxed and social: the wineries share outdoor space, tables spill between buildings, and it is easy to spend an afternoon working through pours from half a dozen different producers. Tin City Cider and Giornata Wine are among the anchor tenants. The complex gets busy on weekend afternoons and is most enjoyable mid-week when there is more room to breathe.
