Paso Robles is wine country first, but there is more to it than tasting rooms. The downtown square is worth an afternoon, the hot springs have been drawing visitors for over a century, and the surrounding hills offer good hiking and cycling through vineyards and oak woodlands. The city has grown quickly in recent years, but it has kept its small-town feel — most things are accessible on foot or by a short drive.
