Sensorio is a permanent outdoor art installation spread across 15 acres of Paso Robles wine country. The centerpiece is British artist Bruce Munro's "Field of Light" — 58,800 stem-mounted frosted spheres that glow at dusk in shifting waves of color across a hillside vineyard. A second installation, "Light Towers," adds illuminated structures visible from a distance.
The experience works best in the hour around sunset, when the natural light fades and the spheres take over. Bring layers — evenings can be cool even in summer. Tickets must be booked in advance and include parking. It is the kind of installation that photographs well but rewards being there in person even more.
