The Harvey Baker House is thought to be the oldest surviving building in Salinas. The small historic house is open for tours, giving a compact look at the city's early settlement period before the valley became known for agriculture and Steinbeck.
It is a modest stop, but worthwhile if you are already visiting downtown Salinas or the nearby National Steinbeck Center.
