San Francisco International Airport is the main long-haul gateway, with Oakland and San Jose airports often cheaper and easier for domestic flights. BART links SFO and Oakland Airport to downtown San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, and much of the East Bay; Caltrain runs down the peninsula to Palo Alto and San Jose.
