Paper Plane

Paper Plane, on South First Street next to Haberdasher (and run by the same owners), is the more casual sibling — a cocktail bar with a long bar counter, a small terrace, and a printed menu of inventive drinks that change every few weeks. The food menu is short but punches above its weight, with steak frites and a few small plates designed to absorb the cocktails.

The crowd is downtown professionals after work and a livelier mix on weekend evenings. Paper Plane was named one of America's best bars by Esquire shortly after opening, and ten years later it still feels like one of the more reliable rooms downtown. Walk-in friendly.
