SingleThread is technically in Healdsburg (30 minutes north of Santa Rosa), but it merits mention as the most exceptional restaurant accessible from the city. The chefs Kyle and Katina Connaughton grow most of their produce on their farm in Sonoma County, and the kaiseki-influenced tasting menu changes with the seasons in a way that makes the agricultural setting tangible. Three Michelin stars since 2018.
This is a significant-occasion restaurant: long tasting menu, serious wine list, and prices to match. But for visitors with the budget, there is no better expression of what Sonoma County agriculture can produce in its ideal form. Book weeks ahead.
