Eating out

Oroville's dining scene is modest but reflects the city's agricultural and working-class character. Chinese-American restaurants continue a tradition stretching back to the Gold Rush era, when Oroville had one of the largest Chinatowns in California. Several Mexican restaurants serve the area's significant agricultural workforce.

Downtown along Oro Dam Boulevard and Table Mountain Boulevard you'll find diners, burger joints, and a handful of family-owned Mexican restaurants. Pizza and fast-food chains concentrate along the main commercial strip. For more variety, the drive to Chico (30 minutes north) opens up a much wider range of options, including the restaurants clustered around Chico State University.
