Torrance sits at the south end of the LA basin, accessible from the 405 (San Diego) freeway, the 110 (Harbor) freeway, and the Pacific Coast Highway. LAX airport is 15–25 minutes north depending on traffic, Long Beach Airport is a similar drive east. The city has no rail or subway service of its own.
The Torrance Transit bus system operates local routes within the city; the LA Metro 232 bus runs the length of Hawthorne Boulevard between the LAX area and Long Beach. Realistically, almost everyone visits Torrance by car.
