City Park

Denver's largest urban park, 330 acres of lawns, two lakes, formal flowerbeds, and a Victorian bandshell. Ferril Lake, on the west side, is where most people come for the postcard view — the Capitol dome perfectly framed against the snowy Front Range, especially at sunset. Pedal boats are available in summer.

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science and the Denver Zoo both sit inside the park, on the east side. Free jazz concerts at the Pavilion fill summer Sundays. Cycling around the perimeter on the bike path is the most pleasant way to take it all in.
