Getting There

Fort Collins does not have its own commercial airport; most visitors fly into Denver International Airport (DEN), around 110 km to the south. The drive from Denver takes 90 minutes to two hours depending on traffic on I-25. Shuttle services run between DEN and Fort Collins several times daily; the FLEX regional bus also connects Fort Collins to Denver via Longmont, though the journey is long.

Amtrak's California Zephyr stops at the small Fraser/Winter Park station about 100 km southwest, which is not practical for most travelers. Within Colorado, Fort Collins is well-positioned for road trips — two hours from Denver, two hours from Rocky Mountain National Park's main entrance at Estes Park, and on the route north to Wyoming and the Great Plains.

Within the Fort Collins metro area, the city operates a reliable bus network (Transfort) and there is a free shuttle bus (the MAX Bus Rapid Transit) running from the south side of town through CSU to Old Town.
