Odell Brewing

Odell Brewing is the other cornerstone of Fort Collins craft beer, located just up the road from New Belgium on Linden Street. The taproom is spacious and relaxed, with a dog-friendly patio and a regular rotation of beers on tap — around 20 at any given time, including the flagship 90 Shilling amber and IPAs that have won national recognition.

Unlike some larger craft breweries that have expanded aggressively, Odell has remained focused on quality over volume. Free samples are offered on request and the staff are knowledgeable. The taproom fills up on weekend evenings; arrive early if you want a patio spot. Odell is within easy walking distance of New Belgium, making the two an obvious pairing for an afternoon brewery tour.

A story
Odell was founded in 1989, making it the oldest craft brewery in Fort Collins. When the owners opened, Colorado had very few craft breweries and no real brewing culture to speak of — they essentially had to build an audience from scratch. The brewery's long-running success helped establish Fort Collins as a craft beer destination.
