Glenwood Springs is on Interstate 70 about 260 km west of Denver and 110 km north of Aspen. The drive from Denver takes around two and a half hours in normal conditions; the canyon approach on I-70 through Glenwood Canyon is spectacular.
Amtrak's California Zephyr stops in town daily in each direction — it is one of the most scenic train journeys in North America, threading through Glenwood Canyon along the canyon wall. The journey from Denver takes about 5 hours. Coming from the west, the train arrives from Grand Junction (around 2 hours).
The nearest commercial airports are in Aspen (Eagle County Airport, about 60 km east), Grand Junction (about 130 km west), and Denver International (about 260 km east). Car rental is available at all three. RFTA buses connect Glenwood Springs with Aspen and Basalt to the south.
