Jazz Aspen Snowmass runs the bigger and louder of the village's two main music events: a three-day outdoor festival over Labor Day weekend (early September), held in Town Park with the ski slopes as a backdrop. Despite the "jazz" in the name, headliners run heavily to rock, pop, and country — past acts have included John Mayer, Stevie Wonder, Chris Stapleton, and Lenny Kravitz.
The smaller June Experience festival is closer to the original jazz mission. Tickets for both go on sale early in the year and the Labor Day festival generally sells out well before summer.
