Telluride's most elegant restaurant occupies a converted Victorian ice house on Colorado Avenue. The cooking is French-inspired — proper bistro dishes, good sauces, well-sourced proteins — elevated enough to justify the prices without tipping into the kind of pretension that makes mountain-town fine dining exhausting.
The wine list is serious, the room is warm without being stuffy, and the service understands that its customers are often just in from a day on the mountain. Reservations are required in peak season. One of the few places in Telluride where dinner feels like a considered occasion.
