What was once a pineapple-packing neighbourhood is now an open-air luxury shopping and art district. The Design District is home to flagship stores for Louis Vuitton, Prada, Dior, and dozens more, interspersed with galleries, public art installations, and restaurants. The Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA Miami), free to enter, anchors the cultural side. The architecture itself is part of the attraction — buildings by Sou Fujimoto, Aranda/Lasch, and others make this worth wandering even if you are not shopping.
