Known locally as PAMM, this museum sits on the edge of Biscayne Bay in Museum Park, its cantilevered concrete structure by Herzog & de Meuron draped with hanging gardens. The collection focuses on 20th and 21st century art from the Americas, the Caribbean, and the African diaspora. The building itself — open, airy, with views of the bay through floor-to-ceiling windows — is as much a reason to visit as the art inside. The ground-floor terrace is free to access and one of the best spots in downtown Miami to sit and watch the water.
