South Beach is walkable — Ocean Drive, Washington Avenue, Lincoln Road, and the beach are all accessible on foot from any hotel in the area. Renting a bicycle or scooter is popular and practical for the relatively flat island. Several rental operators are clustered around the Lincoln Road area.
The Miami Beach Trolley runs free routes through the city including the South Beach Loop and the Collins Express. Rideshares are abundant but traffic on the causeway and along Collins Avenue can be slow during rush hours and weekends. Parking is available but expensive and limited — if you are staying on the beach, leaving the car at the hotel is strongly advised.
Getting to the Miami mainland for restaurants, museums, or nightlife in Wynwood or Little Havana requires a rideshare or the MacArthur Causeway — the crossing takes 10–15 minutes without traffic.
