Getting There

Miami International Airport (MIA) is about 12 miles from Miami Beach — a 20–40 minute drive depending on traffic. Taxis and rideshares are straightforward; the fare to South Beach is typically $35–50. The Miami Beach Connector (Miami-Dade Transit bus 150) runs from the airport to South Beach for a few dollars but takes considerably longer.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is about 30 miles north and often cheaper for flights; the drive to Miami Beach is 45–60 minutes.

From downtown Miami, the MacArthur Causeway (I-395) leads directly to South Beach and is the fastest crossing. The Venetian Causeway is more scenic. There is no direct rail connection between downtown Miami and Miami Beach — the Miami Beach Loop bus service and rideshares handle the crossing. Water taxis operate seasonally.
