Miami Beach Botanical Garden

The Miami Beach Botanical Garden is a compact but well-tended urban garden tucked behind the Miami Beach Convention Center, covering just over 2 acres of subtropical plantings. It is free to enter and provides a quiet, leafy escape from the beach and the commercial activity of Lincoln Road nearby. The collection emphasises tropical and subtropical species suited to the South Florida climate: palms, cycads, bromeliads, ferns, and flowering trees that change throughout the year.

The garden is particularly pleasant in the early morning before the heat builds. It hosts regular events including plant sales, yoga classes, and workshops. The Japanese garden section, with its small pond and stone lanterns, feels improbably serene given its urban context. This is not a major tourist sight, but it is a genuine neighbourhood asset and a good pause point between the museum complex and South Beach.
