Beaches in St. Augustine

St. Augustine beaches attract visitors around the year with their sandy coastline and their perfect Florida weather. There are countless spots for sunbathing and swimming, for picnics and for relaxed walks on the beach.

St. Augustine Beach

The St. Augustine Beach on Anastasia Island is a great beach for sunbathing and swimming, and it also offers a range of activities and attractions. There is a pier for fishing, a playground for the kids, a pavilion, volleyball areas, great dining and shopping opportunities and much more to do for the whole family.

Anastasia State Recreation Park

The Anastasia State Recreation Park is well worth visiting. There are five miles of beaches here, and the bird sanctuary is a fascinating place to explore. The sandy beaches have ample opportunities for swimming, and there are lifeguards on duty. You can rent beach chairs and other equipment for sunbathing, and there are also canoes to rent for independent exploration.

You can enjoy lunches and snacks in the picnic and barbeque areas and the kids can have fun on the playground. Fishing is possible too and there are trekking paths and nature trails around this scenic area. Camping is offered too if you wish to stay overnight.

Crescent Beach

Crescent Beach is a beautiful, natural beach located on Anastasia Island. This lovely beach has scenic natural surroundings and excellent opportunities for fishing and for diving. Just a short drive South on the A1A from the city of St. Augustine, this beach also has a campground.

Vilano Beach

Vilano Beach is one of the best and most relaxed beaches in the area. You can enjoy a seafood lunch in a restaurant by the beach or go on a fishing trip or a sailing excursion. There is also a range of places to stay from vacation rentals to hotels.

North Beach

The North Beach is conveniently located just a few minutes drive from St. Augustine. Here you can camp on the two campsites, have delicious seafood, create your own picnics in the barbeque and picnic areas, and laze on the peaceful beach.

Guana River State Park

The Guana River State Park is a beautiful place to visit just north from St. Augustine. The 2000 acres that make up the state park have miles of natural and unspoiled beaches that are perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Surfing is possible here too and you can fish or go walking along the natural coastline. This is a great beach for daytrips, because there are no campgrounds here.
