The trail crosses Seminole and Largo through a stretch that is more suburban and less scenic than the northern section, but the wide path remains well-shaded in places and includes one of the trail's signature overpasses crossing US-19. Several local bike shops and chain restaurants sit within a block of the path.
The Seminole stretch is mostly used by commuters and short-trip riders rather than tourists. It also intersects the Bayway Trail, a connector that runs west to Madeira Beach and the Gulf, making it possible to ride from downtown St. Petersburg to the open beaches without sharing a lane with traffic.
