The southern terminus is just north of downtown St. Petersburg in the Grand Central District, a short ride from the waterfront museums and the busy Central Avenue restaurant strip. Riders finishing here have an easy roll down to the Dali Museum, the St. Pete Pier, or any of the brewpubs along Central.
The Pinellas Trail connects in St. Petersburg to the Skyway Trail, which extends another 8 miles south and includes a section across part of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge approach — worth the detour for the bay views. The downtown end is also where the trail comes closest to public transit; the SunRunner BRT line and several PSTA bus routes pass within blocks.
