Fort Oglethorpe sits just south of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and is most conveniently reached by car. From Chattanooga, take US-27 South into Fort Oglethorpe — the drive takes about fifteen minutes. The closest airport is Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (CHA), a small regional airport with connections to Atlanta, Charlotte, and a few other hubs. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is about two hours south on I-75 if you need more flight options.
There is no passenger rail or regular bus service directly to Fort Oglethorpe. A rental car from Chattanooga gives you the most flexibility for exploring both the battlefield and the surrounding area.
