Gordon Lee Mill is a small but worthwhile historic stop on Chickamauga Creek, just outside Fort Oglethorpe. The mill complex grew around a 19th-century gristmill and later became associated with Gordon Lee, a local businessman and congressman whose family helped shape this corner of northwest Georgia.
The appeal is partly the setting: mill buildings, water, and rural traces in an area better known for Civil War battlefields. It works best as a short detour before or after Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, adding a quieter layer of agricultural and local history to the battlefield landscape.
