Lake Winnepesaukah, usually shortened to Lake Winnie, is a classic regional amusement park just over the Georgia line from Chattanooga. Its appeal is old-fashioned rather than glossy: midway rides, a wooden coaster, family attractions and a water-park component in season.
For Fort Oglethorpe visitors it is a useful contrast to the battlefield and military-history stops. It is most worthwhile for families or nostalgia-minded travelers, and operating dates matter because the park is seasonal.
